ATTENTION: BUILD CREW NEEDED

We need  your help to help set the stage for Lincoln High School’s 13th Annual New Works Festival, Superstition! Build crew is a great way to get involved with the theater program here at Lincoln, as well as earn incentive points and getting to work with a great deal of fantastic people! For anyone who isn’t sure how they feel about being involved in theater, this is a great place to start.

Build crew will be responsible for helping construct the intimate seating arrangement in the auditorium, as well as helping with other technical set-ups such as light hang.

Build crew members will be needed this coming Sunday 2/5 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM in the auditorium to help out, as well as the following weekend 2/11 and 2/12 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. Light hangs will also happen on 2/15, 2/16, and 2/17 if needed, and again the following week on 2/21 and 2/22.

URGENT: Sunday Build 2/5

ALERT

The Saturday 2/4 load-in has been cancelled due to a lack of available labor.  However, we are going to still hold a Sunday 2/5 load-in from 10a - 5p.  This is critical if we are to remain on schedule.

We are asking that any and all Lincoln Drama Department students and parents along with the cast and crew contribute as much time as possible that day.

Please RSVP as soon as possible to Jim Peerenboom and let him know when you can come in and when you will leave between 10a - 5p on 2/5.

RE: The Next Schedule

I know people are awaiting the next schedule.  Because there is now the possibility that inclement weather may force cancellations of after school activities on Thursday and all activities on Friday, I cannot publish the schedule until we see what happens the rest of this week.  If cancellations are necessary, it will greatly impact the process as we will then have to look at make-up rehearsals.  What this would mean is that some rehearsals would go later than originally anticipated (likely to 7:00p) and there would be the potential for an added weekend rehearsal.

Bottom line:  hold tight and thanks for your patience.

SUPERSTITION TECH CREW:

The Superstition crew will consist ultimately of 8 capable individuals in addition to the Lead and Assistant Stage Managers. Crew members will play a vital part in the creation of the show, helping to construct the set and props, as well as aiding in the creation of the overall effect of the play for the audience. Our first work party will be Saturday 2/4, with an additional work party on Sunday 2/5 to complete construction of the seating onstage. Work parties will run from 10:00AM to 5:00PM both days, unless finished earlier. All crew members are expected to attend unless stage management is notified beforehand. The technical positions for Superstition are as follows;

Board Op

Board op will be responsible for managing one of the technical boards alongside the Lead Stage Manager throughout the run of the show.

Run Crew (4)

Run crew in this show will be responsible for changing the sets on stage in front of the audience, and therefore must be able to act maturely and responsibly in front of an audience. Run crew will also be responsible for managing the flies and other assorted tasks throughout the run of the show. Run crew will be headed by the Assistant Stage Manager acting as Deck Lead.

Costumers (2)

Costumers will be responsible for costume preparation and maintenance, as well as standing by backstage during performances to help with special makeup effects.

House Manager

House manager will be responsible for helping out with ticket sales and general management on performance nights, and must be able to alert audience members of doors opening and closing, as well as providing direct customer service. House manager must be able to work well with others.

ALERT: 1/27 and 2/3

PPS continues to figure out how to handle the semester, finals, and the like.  What I can tell you is that right now, they plan on having students in classes on 1/27 (previously a day off) and maybe a day off on 2/3 (previously a school day).

Regardless, we WILL have rehearsals on BOTH of those days now.  

Given 1/27 used to be a day off, I need to know who has conflicts between 3:30p - 6:00p on Friday, 1/27.      

If you do not email me by tomorrow:  Wednesday 1/18 by 5:00p, I will assume you have none.

The schedule for 1/23 - 2/3 will be published (hopefully!) by Friday 1/20, but there are many moving parts as everyone is pushing to make up days.  I appreciate your patience.

Weather Cancellations

With rare exception, when weather cancels school, we will not have rehearsal.  We will simply maintain the schedule and catch up in future rehearsals. So we are off today (and maybe later this week if the snow forecast holds).  Keep reading and studying your parts!  See you all soon.
