NW15 - Your Grades...

Just in case you don't read carefully and early enough when you download the Audition Packet...

Every single person auditioning must provide a printed screenshot of StudentVue so as to ensure you are doing well enough in classes to justify an extra-curricular activity.

And again - read the entire packet carefully.

NW15: Audition Packet - Paperwork

Please click HERE to download and print the audition packet.  Read this very carefully. And please know you must have the paperwork all in order when you arrive at the audition for generals on 3/6.

If you are unable to print, please see Mr. Peerenboom for a copy of the packet.

NW15 - The Scripts!

The only preparation anyone will need to do for the audition is to thoroughly read the plays. Please note the characters who float from one play to another... :)

And here they are.

It's important to note that these are called the "audition drafts". As always with the New Works Festival, the plays will go through changes as the process gets underway.

Audition packets and the sign-up sheet will be available within the next 48 hours.

STAGE MANAGER - WANNA APPLY?

NW15:  Train of Thought
Want to stage manage?

Please send me an email explaining why you think you are right and ready for the job!  I am looking for:

1 Lead Stage Manger
2 Assistant Stage Managers

Please only apply if you are interested in all the jobs. I’m not interested in an applicant who would “only want lead” or “only want assistant”. The jobs are similar and require strong levels of commitment.

Do not apply until you have looked at the calendar and determined you can fully commit. Do know that I allow the SM and ASMs to take days off. Part of having a 3 person team is to better allow for school/show/life balance. That said, it is still a large time commitment.

Once I receive emails and consult with Mr. Peerenboom, I will either ask for phone interviews or make offers outright.

The April 8 Issue!

It was brought to my attention after I published mandatory dates that the choir is going to be on a trip through April 8 - and will not be returning until that evening. Students have already paid for the trip. It is certainly not fair to then mandate April 8 for those students as they had no way of knowing they'd have to choose between two school sanctioned activities.

That said, April 8 is a really important date. We will have been off for nearly 3 weeks at that point, having paused for State Thespians - and so missing that rehearsal remains a big issue.

I am going to waive the mandatory requirement for April 8 only for students who are going on the choir trip. They may still audition. But...like all conflicts, the April 8 date will be noted - and it's a big deal.  It will make casting tricky for those students should I want them in the show; they'd likely all need to be in the same play so that only one cast would be affected that day.

A similar issue happened last year but worked out. So breathe easy if you're part of the choir trip. Come audition! And we will see how it all plays out. I obviously want to support all artistic endeavors.

NW15: Auditions and Mandatory Dates

As you prepare to open Reality Warp - and for some to remount She Kills Monsters, we must also dive into NW15: Train of Thought.  So here is some key info for you:

AUDITIONS
Generals:  3/6 (4p - 8p)
Callbacks: 3/7 (4p - 8p)

You will not be considered for the show if you are not available for the full 4 hours of generals on 3/6.  No exceptions. If you have a small conflict for callbacks on 3/7, that can likely be worked around.

Nothing needs to be prepared for the audition except for thoroughly reading the plays. More specifics will be provided next week.

Audition packets and scripts will be available for download no later than T 2/26.

CONFLICTS / MANDATORY DATES
Because we are on a very tight schedule due to State Thespians, every conflict listed for this show will be counted as a "mark against" potential casting. In other words, the very first thing I'm going to look at is not your skill, talent, or attitude - but your conflicts. I will not allow anyone to audition who is planning Outdoor School during the entire process. Note that there are no conflicts with She Kills Monsters as that has already been coordinated.

The schedule overview is HERE for early perusal and download. This will also be part of the audition packet, but I wanted to give people time to assess their schedules. It may change slightly should unexpected needs arise, but this is extremely accurate.

In addition, when looking at the schedule, note that the following dates are MANDATORY. If you are unable to clear your calendars for the following dates (and the entire time window as listed on the schedule), you may not audition:

F 3/8
T 3/19
M 4/8

and

All dates from 4/22 onward through strike on 5/13

Information will be posted more and more often on this blog. And as always, please email if you have questions:
