NW15: Parent / Guardian Meeting March 14th!

ALERT!

The show is cast!
Crew positions will be finalized early next week!
NW15 has launched!

This coming week, we will have our parent / guardian meeting which is a very important part of this process:

THURSDAY March 14th at 7:00p

At this meeting we will:

1.  Q&A.  A talk about the festival and answer any questions you may have about expectations.

2.  Collect fees.  Here is a reminder -  this was already articulated in the audition packet:

CAST/CREW FEES
All participants will have to pay a fee of $125.00.  For this fee, you receive a show t-shirt and meals during tech/dress week.  The remaining money goes to support the production.  The fee can be paid one of two ways:  1. In person at the parent meeting. Have a check for $50 made out to “Lincoln Drama” and another for $75 made out to “Friends of Lincoln Drama”.  2.  On-line/mail by paying $50 on School Pay for “Lincoln Drama” and mailing/sending with your child a $75 check to “Friends of Lincoln Drama”. We continue to look for ways to make paying easier, but this is currently our best method.  There are need based scholarships available.

We are also now able to take cards at the parent / guardian meeting if that is more convenient for you.

3.  Food coordination.  We need volunteers to set up food and make sure the company is properly fed during the long days of tech / dress week.

4.  Ticket sales.  This show has limited seating (about 100 seats) - so purchasing early will be important.  As well, we hope families and friends of LHS Drama will do their best to sell this annual event - a festival that remains one of the most enduring and unique high school theatrical offerings both in the region and country.

LAST:  Keep an eye on this blog.  I urge parents / guardians to check it daily. You will always have a window into the process if you keep up with these posts. And you may always contact me directly:  matthew.b.zrebski@gmail.com

NW15: Schedule 3/8 - 3/19

Please read rehearsal schedules VERY carefully.  Remember, the expectation is that you are on stage ready to work at the time called - NOT walking in the door, running to bathroom, filling up your water bottle etc.  Always plan to be outside the rehearsal space 5 min early.  The SMs will let you know when you may come in.

If you are running late, alert the SMs.  If you know an emergency or illness has come up and you will miss entirely, you must contact the SMs ASAP so that they can alert me.  In some instances, we will cancel a rehearsal, but more often than not, we will have an SM walk/read your role.  It is always your job to catch up prior to your next rehearsal by arranging to meet with the SMs or a fellow cast member to fill you in on what you missed.

Failure to communicate last minute emergencies or illnesses in a timely manner may result in removal from the show.  Too many absences (regardless of reason) may result in removal from the show.  Tardiness is unacceptable - too many instances of tardiness may result in removal from the show.

REMEMBER:  Timeliness and organization is a value system critical to successful creative endeavors.  Practicing timeliness and organization will not only help you succeed, but is also a display of great respect for your colleagues and mentors.  To be disorganized and late is to disregard others with whom you work.  If you need help in improving these skills, let us help you!

NW15: Crew Positions / Sign Up

This coming Monday, 3/4, the NW15 Crew Sign Up Sheet will go up.  You are asked to sign up even if you are auditioning. If you are cast, you will obviously be removed from crew consideration.  And please note: casting will take priority. In other words, there is no danger of you signing up for possible crew and then that somehow meaning I'd pass you up for a role so you can be on crew. If you audition, I assume that is your #1 priority. But if you also sign up for possible crew, that means you would also love to be involved behind the scenes should you not be cast.

Should interviews be needed, they will take place after school on 3/8 and 3/11. The crew will be finalized and announced by 3/12.

Here are details on crew positions and obligations. It's a rough detail, so if you need more info, please email me:  matthew.b.zrebski@gmail.com
